I loved being a reporter for The Hartford Courant in Hartford, Ct. covering mostly education and religion. Then my husband, David, and I moved our two daughters and a little poodle named Tucky to Memphis. Tucky is short for Kentucky – I am a University of Kentucky graduate who bleeds Blue.
As Stephanie and Becky grew into women, I did publicity, speech writing and marketing for companies like Federal Express, non-profits such as Memphis Symphony Orchestra and the Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), and institutions like Lausanne Collegiate School and Memphis City Schools.
I also helped write two non-fiction books on taxes and teen drug use before abandoning reality. With all that varied work experience, I still learned the most by living with three foreign exchange students from Austria and Italy. I cried the most as an emergency shelter parent for the Juvenile Court.
