FRANKIE Y. BAILEY is a Virginia native who lives and works in upstate New York. She is a criminal justice professor at UAlbany, specializing in crime and mass media/popular culture and crime history. Her non-fiction books have been nominated for Edgar, Anthony, and Macavity awards. She is the author of five books (and two short stories) in a mystery series featuring Southern crime historian Lizzie Stuart. Frankie’s near-future police procedural series set in parallel universe Albany, New York and featuring Detective Hannah McCabe, debuted with The Red Queen Dies (St. Martin’s, 2013). The second book in the series is forthcoming. She is also at work on a non-fiction book about dress, appearance, and crime.
