Now with some personality:
My name is Bryon Quertermous and I’m a writer as well as the commissioning editor for Exhibit A Books, the new crime fiction imprint from Angry Robot Books. I have over a decade of publishing experience that includes work with traditional stalwarts, such as Random House, as well as more cutting-edge operations like Harlequin’s digital-first imprint Carina Press. I’ve also worked as a freelance editor for New York Times bestselling authors and published the award-winning crime zine Demolition for four years.
To read more about my history as an editor go here.
As a writer, my first play was a shameless rip-off of The Maltese Falcon and was produced when I was 19. My short stories have appeared in a number of print and online journals of varying repute as well as in several anthologies for which I received real cash money that I used to buy a grill, among other things. In 2003 I was shortlisted for the Debut Dagger Award from the UK Crime Writers Association. My first novel, Murder Boy, will be published in 2014 by Polis Books.
I live somewhere between Ann Arbor and Detroit (metaphorically as well as physically) where I can be found screaming at the TV during football and baseball season and playing Ninja Turtles and My Little Pony with my kids the rest of the time.
