BONNIE J. DOERR is a former educator, nature lover, gardener, and author of mystery/adventures featuring crime-crackin’ teens and dastardly adults. She lives in North Carolina, but researches and writes in the Florida Keys. Her work is often described as a mashup of Carl Hiaasen and Jean Graighead George. Her books feature the National Key Deer Refuge and the Marathon (sea) Turtle Hospital. Island Sting, her first novel, was honored with the 2011 EPIC Children’s Award. Her second, Stake Out, was a finalist for the 2012 Green Earth children’s fiction award. Ms. Doerr is working on a third mystery that will feature the Key West Wildlife Center.
